County adds website to track widening of Corkscrew Road

CorkscrewRoadWidening.com screenshot

Lee County has created an entire website for residents to answer questions and track progress of the Corkscrew Road widening project. Currently in the design phase, the project will widen four miles of Corkscrew Road from 2 to 4 lanes from Ben Hill Griffen Parkway to Alico Road. Understandably, the public has questions about how this major infrastructure change will impact traffic, access to communities and travel times. The county has provided a Frequently Asked Questions page, a page to track meetings and public involvement opportunities, as well as ways to contact those in charge of the project.

This is a great resource to bookmark on your browser, particularly if you live, work or travel frequently on Corkscrew Road east of I-75. The ECCL transportation committee appreciates this great communication tool the County has provided.
